AI Superior is a service provider on Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI that helps businesses applying analytics to unlock the potential of data. We are working across multiple verticals executing diverse projects that deal with the visual, audio, sensor, textual and other types of data. We build rapid prototypes, as well as end-to-end products to solve the complex business challenges of our customers.

One of our strategic directions is to build analytics based on satellite imagery data. With the recent developments in this field, there are many applications enabled including ones from agriculture, safety, and environmental protection domains.

We are looking for a strong master student who could bring diligence, skills, and scientific attitude to explore satellite image analysis state-of-the-art, discover relevant use cases to be applied to protect our planet. The exact topic is to be defined based on the student interests as well as on the impact on the environment. The expected outcome of the thesis includes a PoC (or multiple) highlighting performance results, thesis manuscript, and a scientific conference/journal paper.

Responsibilities:

  • You conduct research in the domain of satellite image analysis in order to execute your master thesis based on its outcome

  • You systematically study SOTA, evaluate existing algorithms and address their limitations
  • You take an active role in making your results comprehensible and publishable

Qualifications:

  • BSc/MSc. in Mathematics, Optimization, (Electrical) Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Physics, or another related field
  • Expertise in Python and main data science libraries
  • Good scientific/technical writing skills
  • Good communication skills, and fluent English
  • Working with a high degree of self-responsibility and a goal-oriented approach

Nice to have:

  • Expertise in Computer Vision and Remote Sensing
  • Proven ML skills: academic papers, Kaggle profile, open-source project on GitHub, etc.
  • Experience with neural networks with PyTorch/TensorFlow
